"Sino-Sanskrit" originates from 《唯识述记序》：“商榷華梵，徵詮輕重，陶甄諸義之差，有葉一師之製。” It has illustrated the strict attitude of ancient Chinese scholars in learning every word of Sanskrit.
Entering the information age is dependent on the electronic entry, and input method software is the foundation. Previously China did not have an input method for Sanskrit and Pali. We used some plug-in developed by foreigners, or wrote "macro" in the Word, or used a single input method developed based on Hindi. We even modified the ICO file and font file name of the early version early version of Tavultesoft to obtain an input method. All the above suggests the needs of Chinese to learn and understand Indian culture and Buddhist literature.
In June 2016, "Sino-Sanskrit net" will launch the first domestic self-developed "Sino-Sanskrit Concise multi-function Sanskrit and Pali input method" ("Fanba input method") V1.0 for Windows. It takes 7 years from the original plan to the test of "Fanba input method", receiving the support and encouragement from many experts, scholars and leaders. "Fanba input method" has obtained many technology patents and GUI patent, and is protected by copyright. The versions for Android, IOS and Mac OS will be published in the future.
In order to make full use of network resources and learn about language and culture, "Sino-Sanskrit net" will cooperate with many institutions and social organizations and individuals to collect and record the digital resources on Indian and Tibetan culture scattered on the Internet, establishing "grammar learning" and "digital library". The main data languages are Sanskrit, Pali, Tibetan and Chinese, including Indian and Tibetan philosophy, religion, science and technology, history, etc., as well as data in Chinese classics.
